Biography:

Exercise and fitness have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. When I was 4 years old I used to mimic my mother doing sit-ups and windmills in our living room. I was so excited to get my first weight set for Christmas when I was 11! I set up my own “gym” in our tiny garage and invited friends over for “workout sessions”. I continued being active in high school, playing on the varsity basketball team and lifting in the off season.

It became more difficult to stick to a regular fitness program as college took priority. This continued into work life. I found myself making excuses not to go to the gym, eating too much fast food, and watching too much television. I became less and less happy with how I looked and felt. I knew I had to make a change; not a quick fix, but a lifestyle change.

I was introduce to the HIIT concept about 4 years ago. My husband and I had just got engaged, and we were looking for a program that would challenge us physically and help us get on a path to better health. I was instantly hooked. I never thought I would be able to get up every morning for a 6am class, but I found myself jumping out of bed at 5am with excitement about the day’s workout!

I have been a Lion’s Den client since its inception. The classes are intense but fun, the people are inspiring, and I’ve never felt better physically or mentally. I have been so inspired by Shawn and his team that I decided to become certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine and become a Lion’s Den certified personal trainer (a.k.a. Lion Tamer)!

I received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Emory University in 2012. My background as a registered nurse gives me a strong foundation for understanding the anatomy and physiology of the human body and what being healthy means from the inside out. I am extremely excited to combine my nursing experience along with my NASM certification to create exciting and challenging programs to help my clients achieve and maintain their fitness goals!
